Coquitlam Ice Evolution is expanding our coaching staff!

The team is looking to hire someone (currently with or without coaching credentials) in order to coach (or apprentice coach) the team. A team of coaches is being considered and so please think about this opportunity if you feel like your expertise can contribute amongst a group of experts.

Coaches and former synchro skaters interested in coaching who live in the Lower Mainland, or who are relocating for school or work are encouraged to contact us.

Opportunities to grow the synchro program in Coquitlam exist - please join us!

This Adult Festival team placed 5th at Nationals in 2007 and 2008.

Spring Skating with Coquitlam Ice Evolution

Come skate with us – all eligible skaters are welcome, including skaters with other clubs!

Day and Time: Thursdays from 8:15-9:45pm
Place: Burnaby 8-rinks – Skate Canada ice surface
Dates: April 17, 24 and May 1, 8, 15, 22
Cost: $20 to drop-in per session, or $100 for all 6 sessions

Spring sessions will focus on turns and turn sequences, stroking, power, and synchronized skating skills. Sessions facilitated by Coach Lauren Capstick, with some sessions featuring guest coaches. (More details to come about confirmed guest coaches)

Session 1 (April 17) to be coached by Victor Kraatz
Session 2 (April 24) to be coached by Bruno Delmaestro

Since everyone already knows a great deal about Victor - here is some info on Bruno:
Mr. Delmaestro is a former three time Italian Senior Men's Champion, International Medallist, European and World Competitor. He has 23 years coaching experience; is NCCP Level III Certified (working on Level IV); and has had Canadian National Champions and International Medallists. He has been named BC/YT Section Competitive Coach of the year in 1999, 2001, and 2006. He is the Master CanPowerSkate Course Conductor for BC and was a contributor to the new program. He is a contributor on the Long Term Athlete Development Plan Committee for Skate Canada National Office.

Eligibility: 18 years old as of July 1 2008.
Good demonstration of most level 2 turns required (three-turns, mohawks, double three-turns, twizzles, choctaws)

Skaters interested in trying-out for the team in August are STRONGLY encouraged to attend.
